Get “Tuned” inGet “Tuned” in (Tuning Forks in Vibrational Therapy) by Chris and Dave Wattenberg There is an old discussion in the scientific community. Is the world made up of particles or waves? Many scientists have come to the concussion that matter is made of energy and energy is small particles that move in waves. To us who work in the world of healing and who experience the human and universal energy fields know that the universe is energy that coalesces into form. Put another way, we are energy beings, auras, which become bodies for a small time. Energy is measured in terms of vibration or frequencies. When the body is in balance all of the vibrations are at the correct frequency. The body is at easy. When it is not there is dis-ease. As energy workers, we work to bring the body back to the proper vibrations, back to the correct frequencies. Many therapies, like Reiki and Healing Touch, modify the client’s energy frequency by visualizing colors of light. In music or sound therapy notes are played or sung to restore the natural frequencies. Sound patterns are used in the Buddhist traditions in the form of chants and mantras. It is a hard to tune a voice or an instrument to an exact frequency. When tuning musical instruments, the notes are relative. Even the electronic guitar tuners are only within 10 or 100 cycles per second. In addition, even if you could keep the instrument in tune, it is hard to carry a piano with you. There is a solution, tuning forks. They are accurate to 1/100th of a cycle per second. They are also very portable. Some people use a single tuning fork. If you are only going to get one fork, the C (256 Hz.) is the one to choose. That is like using stones for a treatment and using only a quartz point. There are seven major chakras. Each has a tone. The basic harmonic tuning fork set matches these seven frequencies. These are Root – C 256, Sacral – D, Solar Plexus – E, Heart – F, Throat – G, Third Eye – A, Crown – B and to complete the octave the Transpersonal Point – high C 512. The basic tuning process is to activate the fork, the rubber heel of your shoe or a hockey puck are great for this. Then bring the fork to the client’s ears, only for a few seconds at each ear. Now run the tuning fork around the rim of the chakra with that frequency. You want to do this in a quiet room, no background music. As you do, listen for variations in the sound, or feel the differences in the stem. Continue until the sound becomes smooth. You may need to reactivate the fork several times. If so, do not bring the fork to the ears, go directly to the chakra. There are many specialty tuning fork sets. These include ones for the organs of the body, planets, minerals, Kabbalistic Tree of Life (spherot). Like the sets themselves, there are many treatments, like the spiral.
