See What They Want
Part of every treatment session is talking with the client. This can be a formal interview or just a casual discussion. The practitioner asks about how the last session worked and how the client is feeling at this time. For the practitioner this time should never be truly casual. It is when you get the most information.

What you, as a practitioner get out of the session is dependent on how well you observe. The words carry meaning beyond their actual definitions. The movements and facial expressions that the client connects with the words show what is hidden. The way the client breathes and the tone of the voice, when they cough or when they need a drink all carry a message they want you to decipher.

Many energy workers have special perceptions. If you are empathic you may feel that the client has a pain when they talk about someone. If you see the aura, discussions about a person may change the color of the aura. If you have a knowing, your eyes may be drawn to a spot in the client’s field or body when they talk about a situation. Your talents may pick up a smell or a sound when they discuss what happened yesterday. You might even get a vision of related events when the client talks about the examination they took.

One client, for example, came in and talked about the decision they had to make about surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. They knew that the surgery might relieve the symptoms but that they often came back. They also did not like the idea of any surgery.

We noticed that when they talked about the Carpal Tunnel their hand and arm moved as if they were grabbing and holding on to something. Following that impression we discussed what they were doing in their life and job. They were at a crossroads. They were “holding on” to a job they wanted and could leave.

We treated the Carpal Tunnel energetically to relieve the symptom. The pain was almost gone in one treatment. Half a year later, they had switched careers and the Carpal Tunnel had not resurfaced. The key was a subtle movement and an observation. We got to the root-cause because we caught the message that the client’s subconscious had sent.

As part of our assessment we check the status of the Hara line, the center energy channel. Clients will often tell us that there is a problem without knowing they have said anything significant. Phrases like “I feel beside myself” or “I seem to be getting ahead of myself” are saying that their Hara has shifted. The Hara is to their left, right or behind them. Another way that they may say the same thing is telling us that they are bumping into things or stubbing their toes.

There are other common phrases that are associated with symptoms. “I seem to be carrying the weight of the world” is often associated with shoulder pain. “I am doing everything myself” shows that they feel that they are not getting support. This shows as hip pain. A good reference for these types of associations is “Heal Your Body” by Louse L. Hay.

Most symptoms are pointers. Treating a brain tumor with aspirin or other pain killers will not cure the problem. If you have a client who comes in and repeatedly has the same symptoms even though they walk out of the session each time pain free, you are treating the symptom not the problem. Look for these subtle clues. Their energy system wants to be in balance. It will send out many clues. It is for you to pick them up.

Be aware, not all problems can be cured. In some cases the client had built their identity on the problem. They define themselves and get support from the symptoms. Many times they will tell you that when they describe the symptom. When a cancer patient refers to “my cancer” as apposed to “the cancer” they are “owning” it.

We had a client who had partial paralysis in the left arm and hand. As we worked on them we could see the hand relax and movement return. After the treatment, when they talked about their affliction again, the hand resumed its prior incapacity. This was contrasted by the next client who had a knee injury that happened in a whitewater rafting accident two years earlier. This client was a performer and had to wear a brace on the knee. After one treatment they were bouncing around on stage without a brace and still were without the brace when we saw them on stage a year later.

As a client, be relaxed and talk freely with your practitioner. Enjoy the associations your practitioner picks up. If the association seems to be too far out, ignore it. You will be surprised how often the far out observations will be restated by a friend, coworker or family member within a few days.
