Here is self help exercise you can try. Like the chakras, there are seven energy layers. These are like a soap bubble that is around you. Normally your body will be in the center of these bubbles. They extend below your feet and above your head.

For the average person the first layer is about six to eight inches off the body. Each layer is then six to eight inches from the prior layer. The bubble is in the shape of an ellipse or egg.

This exercise you can do standing up or lying down. It is, again, a solo exercise. Once you get good at this, you may want to include it in your morning routine. It is also good as a quick repair, as after a bad meeting.

Clear your mind and relax. There are two tools you will need. The first is intention. The second is very hard. You will need trust, trust in yourself. You will be working with your energy layers. These are much softer and lighter than a soap bubble. You can feel them. You will feel them as your arms just wanting to stop. The big issue is trusting that you are feeling. Your education, from the time that you were a small child, is to only feel what other people see and feel.

Deep inside your body is a central energy point. It is in another dimension, however you can feel it if you pay attention without “thinking” about it. It is behind your belly button and maybe several inches above or bellow and about in the center of your body.

This energy center (tan tian which is pronounced don te-on) may feel as a small warm spot deep in your abdomen. You may feel it spinning and, as you work with your energy, grouping. It will not get bigger. It will group stronger.

Set your intention to feel your energy layers. Ask to feel your layer one. Then move your arms out until they want to stop. Remember that the layers are extremely subtle. Do not be surprised if the first layer is very close to the body or if the left and right sides are different distances from the body. Now ask to feel layer two. Again allow your arms to stop. Often, when under attach at work or emotionally, all of the layers will be at the same distance. You are not trying, at this point, to influence you energy field, just to assess it. Repeat this process for all seven layers.

Allow yourself at least fifteen minutes for the next part of this exercise. You do not want to spot until you have completed all seven layers. First, connect your energy center with both the Earth and the universal source. You may do this by using your favorite prayer or meditation. The one the makes you feel most connected.

Face your hands away from your body. Feel layer one. Strengthen is and move it out until it wants to stop. For most people this will be four to six inches off of the body. Healers usually have bigger field, six to twelve inches off the body. Hold that position until the layer feels strong and stable. If it seems to want to shift to the left, right, front, back, up or down, keep holding until it is at ease. The layer will be the same distance off of the body in all direction, including above your head and below your feet. It is a smooth bubble shaped like an oval or egg, not the shape of your body.

Once layer one is healthy, repeat the process for layer two. Layer to should be about the same distance from layer one as layer one was from the body. Give it the time to stabilize. It may feel like there is static running across your arms and legs. Repeat for layers three through seven.

Note that layer seven will be two to three feet off the body. That can be a stretch. Relax you will be working with your intention at that point. Healers often have the seventh layer three to six feet off the body.

All of your layers are now rebuilt and stable. You could end at this point; the game has not really started yet. You should feel very relaxed and at the same time both extremely alert and energized.

Now for the game, pull in your field, all seven layers. When it is about half of what is normal hold it until it stabilizes. Pay attention to how you feel. Usually you will feel under pressure, like you are in a fish bowl, have a slight headache or feel claustrophobic.

You do not want to leave yourself in this condition. Allow the layers to go back to their nominal positions. Once your energy is stable again, you are ready to end the exercise. Language is interesting. Remember how it felt, “under pressure”. When there are more demands on your time than you can satisfy and everyone is asking for all of your time we say that you are under pressure
